Métamorphose: poème

DSCN2235

Métamorphose

Septembre criait
crissait crachait
insidieusement
son amertume

le vin
immanquablement
triste
édulcoré

longue longue longue
désespérance
de tout mon être
cyclothymique.

Préférer au jaune
fauve foudroyant
la transparence
du topaze

place à la sérénité
d’un quatorze novembre
couleur d’ambre
sauvage

place à la subtilité
d’un amour
au goût de mer

-Jean-Marcel Duciaume

Metamorphisis

September spat
screamed, screeched
its insidious
bitterness

the wine
undeniably
tainted by
sadness

my whole being
enslaved
by the interminable
cycle of despair.

Replace
the beastly yellow
with translucent
topaz

surrender to the serenity
of a mid-November
coloured by
wild amber

surrender to the subtlety
of love
risen from the sea…

-Jean-Marcel Duciaume

  1. Loved your poetry, Jean-Marcel. Thank you for the translation Brenda. I still write stories, haiku and tanka. Jessie misses Ikebana but her rheumatoid arthritis has taken control of her hands.

  2. Thank you both for following and appreciating the blog. We have read all of your stories, Sterling, some in physical books, some on kindles. We would like to see your poetry in books also. Sorry that Jessie can’t do ikebana anymore, i know how she loved it. Hope she can still enjoy her garden. We should be in the Okanagan in July and see each other at that time.
